About Neuronect

Our Story

Neuronect was born out of extensive research and observation by a group of passionate students from Taylor's University and Taylor's College. The team identified a widespread lack of awareness surrounding OKU eligibility among individuals with neurodivergent conditions in Malaysia.

With active support from Taylor's Digital Health and Medical Advancement Impact Lab and BizPod (Taylor's University Startup Incubator), Neuronect represents a bold step towards inclusivity and accessibility in Malaysia.

The Problem We're Solving

While many awareness campaigns have helped the public become familiar with terms such as autism and ADHD, this awareness has not translated into action. Many eligible individuals still do not register as OKU — often due to stigma, misconceptions, or negative connotations attached to the label.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) 2025 report, only 777,494 individuals, or 2.16% of Malaysia's population, were registered as OKU. This contrasts with global estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), which indicates that approximately 16% of the world's population experience some kind of disabilities.

Our Mission

The objective of Neuronect is to empower individuals and parents with accurate, accessible information, helping them understand that the support and privileges available through OKU registration justify the effort of seeking professional help, and that the stigma and fear surrounding the OKU label should not deter them.

Ultimately, Neuronect's impact extends beyond merely streamlining a process; it possesses the capacity to inspire a fundamental shift in societal mindset regarding neurodiversity. This commitment to empowering our neurodivergent community is not merely a social imperative but a direct investment in the nation's future strength and inclusivity.
